This 6-hour class is geared toward anyone who is interested in learning how to operate drones and consists of 2 parts: in-class and outdoor instruction.
The in-class portion will cover:
· Basic principles of flying - Pitch and Roll, Thrust and Yaw
· Drone Maintenance (batteries, storage, etc.)
· Drone Calibrations
· Flight App Settings
· Camera Settings (Photo/Video)
· Using Third-Party Apps
· Creating Automated Flight Paths
· Safety in Operations: Pre and Post Flight Checklists, etc.
· Intelligent Flight Modes
The outdoor portion will cover:
· Pre-flight inspections, drone calibrations
· App settings and Battery monitoring techniques
· Take-offs and landings (manual and auto modes)
· Basic flight maneuvers (various patterns)
· Advanced flight maneuvers
· Using Intelligent flight modes
· Using Pre-planned Flights to Conduct a Mission
· Emergency maneuvers (return to home function, power-down while in flight, etc.)

Format: 6-hour class (9 am - 4 pm with 1-hour lunch) at Wellington Campus of Lorain County Community College

Note: anyone who took either Introduction to Drones or Part 107 License Prep Course will receive $25 credit toward this course.
